First off, congratulations on the DD! It's very much deserved.

I must confess that my initial thought of what drew me to this piece was the cuteness of the model. And that's still far from untrue haha. But there's so much more going on here that I really love, and which makes it such a worthwhile composition.

The color tinting and desaturation are, of course, stunning. But the patterns in this piece are a massive part of what make it so distinctive. There is seldom a space that isn't striped or flowered or otherwise patterned with something, and coming from a less assured hand this could surely have been overpowering. Here, though, it works beautifully on every front. The thick repetition of shapes on the wallpaper serve as the perfect backdrop to the figure, coming across as a "black object," and pushing the brights way, way forward. The striped towel, the flowery chair, and that ridiculously perfect hat all serve a respective hypnotic purpose, driving the eye around the composition, knowing precisely when it should be fed lights and when it should get darks. The model's hair, distinctively dark eyes, and choice of dress give her her own sort of patterning, standing out vividly against the negative space of her white skin (which, in turn, relates beautifully to the space of uncovered wall beside her.)

And there are probably countless other things I could go into about this, because I really can't find a single front on which it doesn't succeed perfectly in its intentions. So, suffice it to say, I very much enjoyed this piece haha, and would give it full marks in every category listed.

Many congratulations again!
